Father's Day Camping

For Father's Day weekend, my dad, his girlfriend Nidia, and her grandson Shamus came up and we went camping right here in the comforts of our own backyard, Indian Mary Park. We had a blast, the boys loved camping, and it was an all-in-all great weekend.

A Boy And His River

A more complicated type of piggy-back ride...

June 22, 2010 - Us And Them....

Thank you, Grandpa and Grandma, for sharing such a special day with us.
May we be just as blessed as the 2 of you have been all these years.
We love you!

What did you do this weekend? Us...oh, we just painted our house!

Lets be honest...our house was pink and it drove Sy crazy! Deciding on colors to paint a house is one of the hardest decisions we have had to make. It's a BIG deal if it doesn't work out, nobody wants to repaint a house, right? It took us months to figure out what colors we wanted and then at the last minute, as we were getting into the car to go buy the paint, we changed our minds completely and ended up with what we call "slightly olive/earth tones." The colors are Harvest Brown for the base, Mississippi Mud for the shutters, above the garage, and above the doorway/livingrom, and Raffia Cream for the trim.
We taped up all the windows and doors Friday night for about 4 hours. Saturday we worked from 7 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. Sunday we worked from 9 a.m. - 8 p.m. We went through 10 gallons of paint (ugh), borrowed a paint sprayer, went through tons of rollers and brushes. We got sun burns, after all this rain it decided to be 90 degrees all weekend (go figure). We got over our fear of hights (Good Job Hubby!), and the end result is absolutely stunning!
4 years later and every square inch of this house (inside and out) has been painted.
Done. And. Done.
Before....

We pulled off the shutters to find another horrible color of pink.
And After....

Peek-A-Boo

It's hell on my curtains, but he's so darn cute!

Nolanism...

Sometimes Nolan does things that simply cannot be explained, only enjoyed. I will call these posts, Nolanisms.
Nolan called this "Washington Traffic"

Haircuts and Baby Butts...

We have been trimming the top of Jackson's Mohawk for the last year,
but this was his official haircut, just like his brothers.

Fear and Anger...

"I Did It!"

Graduated Pre-School...and he couldn't be happier!

Anything You Can Do...I Can Do Better!

Emmett and Nolan were playing swords with golf clubs.
Before we knew it, Jackson had grabbed one for himself and decided to join in the fun.

Oh, did we mention that he's standing now?

Nolanisms...

We sent Nolan into the bathroom to wash his hands after dinner.
He decided he wanted to brush his teeth as well...simple, right?

Working Mom

This is how I have been working lately....
It's a wonder I am getting anything done at all.
